Radio legend Rush Limbaugh offers a critique of today's State-run Media. He reminds Americans that without media's rabid partisanship, there would be no Obama presidency, prolonged economic meltdown, or cancerous growth of government.
History will not be kind to Obama and will remember him, amongst many other unfortunate traits, as rudderless and without principles. However, the same disingenuous gang of scribblers and squawkers that helped guarantee his election will do its best to transform his future tarnished legacy into something near-Messianic.
It will not help. This very same State-run Media viciously attempted the opposite with President George W Bush and already, within a scant 20 months, the Bush administration is being remembered fondly by more Americans each day and his personal popularity is on the rise.
Conversely, as each ruling class scheme is exposed and then furiously spun by the regime's media lap dogs, a growing segment of the American people become convinced that state-run media is not to be trusted. The American people are now aware that media selectively report events, manipulate and nuance words, and even falsify critical data to promote the regime's agenda -- an agenda of which they heartily approve and steadfastly promote.
Rush Limbaugh contends that objectivity, integrity, and ethics have been lacking in journalism for quite some time. Without them, there can be no journalism -- only propaganda. Journalists are circling the wagons. They sense their Dear Leader, Imam Obama, is politically wounded. And just as they surrounded and sheltered him from the moment his campaign for the Presidency began, they surround and shelter him now, in service Government Great and Good. They're just leftists, sworn to protect and defend the liberal state.
As in the heyday of Pravda, in America today there reigns Fake Media; partisan political operatives disguised as journalists. Though their online watering hole, JouroList -- where they coordinated spin, smears, and sneers on behalf of the Regime -- folded after exposure, they are Journolistas still, and they still protect their masters. Nothing they say or write is real or true; their only agenda is their agenda. They exist to please Obama and to do his bidding. Their audience is each other, and The One. The people of this country are the enemy.
Think about that. The relationship that the media has with American citizens is adversarial. Their hostility used to be towards those in power, to hold them accountable. But now they protect leftist power at all costs, and attack the people. We are a bigger enemy than Iranian nukes. We are a bigger enemy than Middle East terrorists. We are a bigger enemy than kidnapping, beheading, murderous Mexican narco-gangs. And when they fail to persuade us, when they fail to control us, when they fail to successfully adjust our opinions, then they aim their fury at us:
"Are One-quarter of Americans Freakin' Morons?" demanded senior Time editor Amy Sullivan, after polls showed public confusion on the president's religion.
Greg Sargent in The Washington Post blames the religion and Ha-mosque flap on, you guessed it, American racism:"[A]s Obama sets about trying to transform America's relationship with the rest of the world -- it's apparently becoming too painful for a growing number of people to admit that Americans legitimately chose an African American with a Muslim name as leader of the free world."
From NBC's Chuck Todd, et al., writing on MSNBC.com: "2010 has been an especially cruel summer for the President and the White House ... Per the [Pew] survey, only 34 percent believe -- correctly -- that President Obama is a Christian ... [T]he American populace ... should be embarrassed ... The big irony of this story: President Obama is more religious than Reagan or HW Bush ever was; in fact, he gets Bible verses sent to his Blackberry EVERY DAY." Do you hear that? EVERY DAY!
The New York Times' Maureen Dowd scolds: "Obama is the head of the dysfunctional family of America -- a rational man running a most irrational nation, a high-minded man in a low-minded age. The country is having some weird mass nervous breakdown ... The dispute over the Islamic center has tripped some deep national lunacy"
A great gulf has opened between these partisan political operatives and us, their fellow citizens. They operate on behalf of leftist power, not American liberty. The apparatchiks of the state choose: the state.
