Media, Sharpton and Restoring Hatred

by BD Pisani ♦ 29 aug 2010

How predictably sad and repulsive that to debase the Restoring Honor Rally, State-run Media and race parasites Sharpton and Jackson would lie and foment hatred on the very date that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. led a national plea to embrace unity, equality, and brotherhood. By doing so they befouled the sanctity of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" message.

Restoring Honor Rally

The setting was inspiring. The National Mall, from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, straddling the sides of the Reflecting Pool, and continuing all the way to the base of the Washington Monument, was jammed with a human sea of Americans. They came to peacefully celebrate together. They met to honor God and country. They massed to share their love of country and the belief that each of us should be judged not by the color of our skin but on the content of our character, and not with any lesser measure contrived by man.

There was no Left or Right at this rally; There were no Democrats or Republicans. The only partisanship on display was that of patriotism. Video clips and transcripts of the speakers and their messages can be found elsewhere, but each conveyed a recurring theme. Throughout the day, each speaker gave thanks to God, the Founders, the military, and average Americans. Each speaker payed homage to Dr. King and his dream -- a dream inclusive of all Americans.

Of course, this was not good news for some. The assemblage was too huge while a competing rally was too paltry. The vast gathering was too civil and respectful, and the message too unifying.

Worst of all was that grace was given to God.

Which is why State-run Media and Al Sharpton attempted to ridicule and delegitimize the event beforehand, during, and afterward. CNN termed the event a "revival" and accused organizer Glenn Beck of usurping the day marking Dr. King's famous speech for his own political gain. Race monger Jesse Jackson told CNN that Beck was mimicking King and "humiliating the tradition." Apparently honoring Dr. King is only for certain Americans, and the race-baiting Jackson is the demigod determining who can and who cannot. While the Park Police estimated the crowd at anywhere from 300,000 upwards, CNN reported it as "tens of thousands."

CBS News informed America that the Restoring Honor Rally only had approximately 87,000 attendees. Pathetic. Even untrustworthy NBC estimated the crowd at 300,000. NBC anchor Lester Holt described the rally as "steeped in patriotism, rooted in the nation's cultural divide, and greeted by suspicion." He added that the speakers were "provocative" and implied the event's lack of respect for the date of Dr. King's speech.

The only suspicions and provocations employed were the works of a disingenuous state-run media and destructive, self-promoting race mongers.

Other than Jesse Jackson, there is probably no better-know race parasite than Al Sharpton, a man grown wealthy on fomenting racial divisiveness, corporate shakedowns, and class hatred. Sharpton, leading the sparsely-attended counter rally (2,000-3,000), alleged Beck's demonstration was an anti-government rally that advocated states' rights -- counter to the message in King's speech. Sharpton's statement was designed to instill race as an issue where it had no place. Like Jackson, he implied that only certain people were allowed to honor Dr. King.

Though they did their best, the state-run media lap dogs, race pimps, and America haters could neither halt nor besmirch such a fervent gathering of patriotic Americans. You can't stop what you do not understand. This vast assemblage of Americans gathered for a reason.

The reason? Credit for galvanizing ordinary people and placing individual freedom and limited government back on the national agenda belongs to radical Democrats Obama, Pelosi, and Reid. Their arrogant pursuit of socialist transformation against the wishes of the people reinvigorated a lifeless American spirit. Thanks to them, that spirit is now raging.
