Apologist-in-Chief slanders Arizona
Once again, America's sorriest excuse ever for a president belittled the nation's rule of law, one of its sovereign states, and its citizens in a smarmy, obsequious attempt to ingratiate himself with Calderon, the insulting and calculatingly deceptive Mexican president du jour.
It is no secret that Arizona is besieged by illegal immigration. More drugs, gangsters, and illegal aliens who ultimately become a horrendous drain on state resources illegitimately cross into the United States through Arizona than any other state.
And Arizonans suffer the prodigious levels of crime that go along with it: Drug and human smuggling, extortion, kidnapping, and murders. Despite the repeated pleas of two Arizona governors for assistance in enforcing federal law, the federal government has done NOTHING to stop it. Worse than nothing, because the Obama regime is using the woeful status quo as leverage to force through a deceptive vote- and power-grabbing scheme masked in the guise of something called "amnesty."
Arizonans, patient for years, finally had enough. They decided to stop waiting for the Feds to do what the Constitution mandates -- to protect its citizens from external threats. So they passed legislation approved by more than 70 percent of Arizona voters (and 75 percent of the American people) to help stop the robberies, shootings, rapes, drug smuggling, kidnapping, murders, and madness.
Madness is the correct word for what the radical Left is now attempting. From its California-based selective economic boycotts (that don't happen to include the electrical power or water they get from Arizona) to its D.C.-based Justice Department investigations and scathing Democrat Congress bombast.
And into the breech ride Obama and Calderon with indignities blazing.
One ridicules America, one bends the knee
Wednesday, Mexican Presidente Felipe Calderon used his visit to the White House to join the Obama regime in publicly castigating Arizona's new anti-illegal immigration law.
Calderon ignorantly charged "discrimination" against Mexican immigrants in Arizona, strongly criticizing a law with which he is unfamiliar while stoking fears of racial profiling against his people:
"The law discriminates against Mexicans ... despite their enormous contribution to the economy and society of the United States, millions of immigrants still live in the shadows with such laws as the Arizona law, which is forcing our people to face discrimination."
Not to be out-done, Obama again maligned the Arizona law. Now I know what you're thinking; You would expect a President of the United States to defend his nation, Arizona, and its people from a foreigner's criticisms made while as a guest in our own country -- but you would be wrong. Instead, Obama lied through his teeth:
"We're examining any implications especially for civil rights because in the United States of America, no law abiding person -- be they an American citizen, illegal immigrant, or a visitor or tourist from Mexico -- should ever be subject to suspicion simply because of what they look like."
America deserves better than this arrogant, sociofascist failure.
Apology tour come home to roost
Obama knew this was a lie when he said it, but he calculated it was more politically opportune to suck up to a foreign government whilst denigrating his own nation.
It is despicable enough for Obama and his State Department puppets to traipse around the globe, bowing, fawning, and apologizing to every despot imaginable for America's greatness. It is quite another to see it done with the White House as a backdrop.
Really, why bother having Assistant Secretary of State Michael Posner equate Arizona's new immigration law to a blatant affront on human rights as he did with the Communist Chinese? Simply vilify the United States in Washington and save the jet fuel.
Sanctimonious Calderon
Whether through arrogance, ignorance, or fear that millions of impoverished Mexicans will be forced to remain in Mexico and add to the civil unrest there, President Calderon has now publicly condemned Arizona's law as racist. He accused Arizona of opening the door "to intolerance, hate, discrimination, and abuse in law enforcement." Preposterous, of course; No state in the union has anything on the Federal Republic of Mexico when it comes to jack-booting illegal aliens.
If you want to learn about real racial and ethnic profiling, police abuse, and political oppression of illegal aliens, read Michelle Malkin's piece that carefully details How Mexico Treats Illegal Aliens. Once you do, you will be even more dedicated to supporting Arizona's struggle for survival.
"Mexico is doing the job Arizona is now doing -- a job the U.S. government has failed miserably to do: putting its people first. Here's the proper rejoinder to all the hysterical demagogues in Mexico (and their sympathizers here on American soil) now calling for boycotts and invoking Jim Crow laws, apartheid and the Holocaust because Arizona has taken its sovereignty into its own hands:"
