A tale of two seditions
sedition - se·di·tion (si(-di(sh'n) - n. 1. Conduct or language inciting rebellion against the authority of a state. 2. Insurrection; rebellion. 3. Crime of creating a revolt, disturbance, or violence against lawful civil authority with the intent to cause its overthrow or destruction.
In retrospect it should be fairly obvious to most Americans that since the domineering days of Rather, Cronkite, and Brokaw, the mainstream media collective has favored liberalism and promoted a liberal agenda.
A veritable jackpot of obvious examples of such progressive media bias, as grotesquely abundant as violent crime in Chicago or corruption in Washington, D.C. (or vice-versa, whichever works for you), will spew forth from even the most casually defined of Lexis-Nexis searches.
Neither does it take a neurosurgeon to comprehend that since the congressional assassination and next the public lynching of Judges Bork and Thomas, the super-majority of the once near-ethical Fourth Estate -- with rare exception and stained blue dress aside -- devolved into what amounted to nothing more than an American Pravda.
Which is why it took alternative news sources such as the obscure Drudge Report and tabloid National Enquirer to bring public attention to the Clinton-Lewinsky fiasco and the myriad other liberal scandals that followed. Indeed, the Lewinsky scoop transformed little-known Matt Drudge and his no-frills, 24/7 news log into the planet's most-visited Internet news source.
Today, the Obama regime daily orchestrates and distributes the propaganda readily regurgitated by its pliant state-run media. The regime demands and ABC, CBS, CNN, MSNBC, NBC, PBS, and major print news sources willingly comply.
Which brings us to the topic of sedition.
They selectively accuse
It used to be that in America, you were presumed innocent until proven guilty. Today, state-run media "journalists" routinely and purposefully ignore that pesky constitutional quirk. They do not hesitate to publicly accuse conservative personalities of crimes without charges and poof! -- Bob's yer uncle -- another public lynching.
Many of you are aware that a few weeks ago (April 18) on a little-watched MSNBC talk show, Time magazine's Joe Klein accused former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin and Fox News Channel talk host Glenn Beck of ... rubbing "right up close to being seditious," which according to the U.S. Code is rubbing right up close to being a crime.
Ahem. Here's a clip of Klein's performance, clearly illustrating that he never mastered the art of carefully-crafted rhetoric:
This from a "journalist," a fellow leftist traveler who despises America. He and his ilk -- including the Obama regime and Democrat Congress -- have also included Tea Partiers and Limbaugh in the seditious accusation. Where, oh where was Klein's screeches of sedition when for eight years the Left rallied, rioted, and marched with posters reading "Bush is a Nazi," "We support our troops when they shoot their officers," "Bush lied and children died," and even "Kill Bush, Bomb His F***in House" and "Save Mother Earth - Kill Bush."
No sedition there, right, Joe Klein? Merely displays of dissent being the highest form of patriotism, eh? And of course, we musn't forget all those years when "patriots" protested, rioted, sabotaged, bombed, and murdered to further their cause to cripple our efforts in Vietnam, thereby helping the Communists kill our boys and girls.
To state-run media toadies, that's not sedition -- that's patriotism.
They selectively condone
Yes, there have been quite a few bona fide acts over the years that qualify as real sedition, but you never heard state-run media labeling them as such. Two such examples follow.
Jose Angel Gutierrez is a political science professor and former head of the Mexican-American Studies Center at the University of Texas, Arlington. He is also the founder of the radical racist La Raza Unida political party.
The state-run media continues to give this racist a free pass and certainly would never consider him seditious. Here's a cleaned-up sampling of his destructive message:
"The border remains a military zone. We remain a hunted people. Now you think you have a destiny to fulfill in the land that historically has been ours for forty thousand years. And we're a new Mestizo nation. And they want us to discuss civil rights. Civil rights. What law made by white men to oppress all of us of color, female and male. This is our homeland. We cannot -- we will not -- and we must not be made illegal in our own homeland. We are not immigrants that came from another country to another country. We are migrants, free to travel the length and breadth of the Americas because we belong here. We are millions. We just have to survive. We have an aging white America. They are not making babies. They are dying. It's a matter of time. The explosion is in our population." [listen here - Number 3]
He completely invalidates the existence of the United States of America. But the Joe Kleins of America do not see this as sedition -- they applaud Gutierrez's "Diversity."
They selectively ignore
And then there is Ron Gochez, a teacher at Sanchee High School in Los Angeles. At a protest rally at UCLA, he called for the destruction of our country as we know it, a call to action of the 30 million Mexicans here now, highlighting it all with the progressive notion that "We no longer fall for these lies called borders." Listen to the rant:
How about this wanker, eh Joe Klein? Wrong political ideology? We can't be accusing a fellow traveler with sedition, now can we?
Ideology-driven knaves of state-run media such as Klein, Matthews, O'Donnell, Mitchell, Amanpour, Shuster, Olbermann, and Maddow have no qualms about accusing a political opponent with a charge as loathed by free-speech advocates as sedition. Rather, they applauded, defended, and joined in on his maliciousness.
All whilst tacitly condoning or ignoring actual sedition.
Remember well. To sociofascists, the only real Americans are ashamed of America, despise the ideals of American liberty, and view statist government as the means to transform freedom into benevolent subjugation. The Constitution is on one hand an annoyance and on the other a weapon.
Journalistic integrity and ethics are dead.
