In 2006, when the National Geographic Society surveyed 18- to 24-year-old Americans to find out what they knew about the world, only 37 percent could find Iraq on a map, despite the fact that U.S. troops have been in that country since 2003.
Places closer to home didn't fare much better: 50 percent couldn't locate New York State, the country's third most populous.
What does the NGS Roper Survey suggest? Aside from the obvious -- that American students appear to be as dumb as rocks -- perhaps this:
Students in the United States are not dumb but are definitely globally incompetent. America's government schools and teachers' unions are not helping to develop competent, fully-aware citizens who understand what democracy is, why it breaks down, and what their rights and responsibilities are. A little more than a decade ago, the average high school student took three civics courses in order to graduate. Now it's just one -- if at all -- usually taught in the last year.
The Constitution? Government? Basic economics? American Heritage? Fuggedaboudit.

For eighteen months now, a clear message has been sent to international investors that the United States is charging headlong toward an unsustainable statist build-up of debt that could culminate in default and economic collapse. This is eerily similar to another Western nation that embraced Sociofascism and declared war on free enterprise. It is also ominously disturbing.

1) In 1902, THIS COUNTRY was one of the world's richest, boasting the fourth-highest per capita income in the world. Little more than a century later, it is poverty-stricken, struggling and failing to meet its debt obligations.
2) THIS COUNTRY's practice of printing money to pay off its public debts had crushed the economy. Inflation hit 3000 percent, reminiscent of the German Weimar Republic. Food riots were rampant; stores were looted; the country descended into chaos.
3) By 1994, THIS COUNTRY's public pensions -- the equivalent of Social Security -- had imploded. The payroll tax increased from 5 to 26 percent, but it wasn't enough. So it implemented a value-added tax (VAT), new income taxes, a personal tax on wealth, and revenues based upon the sale of public enterprises. These crushed the private sector, further damaging the economy.
4) THIS COUNTRY's government-controlled "privatization" effort to rescue seniors' pensions was attempted. But, by 2001, those funds had been raided by the government, the monies replaced by defaulted government bonds.
5) By 2002, THIS COUNTRY's sociofascist fiscal irresponsibility induced a national economic crisis as severe as America's Great Depression.

This concludes our diversion into stupidity. The United States is not Argentina -- yet -- but we are well on our way there. Nearly everything you just read about Argentina is now being employed or planned for employment by the sociofascist elites now in power.
Which is why the Obama regime and the Democrat Congress are certainly guilty of more than mere stupidity. For the sake of political idiology and personal gain, they are ensuring that America's future generations -- our children, grandchildren, and their progeny -- are enthralled in a miserable world of subjugation, poverty, and mediocrity.
But their worst crime of all is that after they're finished disemboweling our once-great constitutional republic, suppressing our liberty, and looting the nation's treasure, most of them will be long gone -- wealthy and unpunished -- when it all implodes.
