Sarahphobia on parade
The obsession with Sarah Palin by fearful, psychotic progressives and their State-run Media lackeys has not diminished since her departure from elected political life. If anything, the lunacy has accelerated . . . and the crowd at this recent book signing in Florida illustrates why:
Alaska's government is no longer denigrated by state-run media attacks; Its taxpayers are freed from an endless procession of frivolous, costly, partisan lawsuits. The state's new governor continues the old governor's vision in peace, a peace Governor Sarah Palin craftily engineered with her then-misunderstood resignation.
The radical Left, state-run media, and country club Republicans got what they wanted, didn't they? We know they did, because we all remember that when she resigned last July, the likes of David Frum, Kathleen Parker, David Brooks, Maureen Dowd, Huffington, the MSNBC drooling jackals, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC endlessly crowed (in Dowd's case, cackled) about the political death of Sarah Palin.
They gloated over how she was a "quitter" and showed "weakness" and "lack of forethought" (read stupidity) for resigning. They celebrated her demise in the American political arena. What could possibly go wrong to spoil the party?
Outsmarting them all
Well, two things for certain; The considerable and growing influence of New Media and a tough, savvy, iron-willed, independent woman with a take-no-prisoners attitude. Mix in courage and a deep sense of patriotism, rugged individualism, spiritual conviction, and an unwavering moral compass and you just created the ruling elite's worst nightmare:
An extremely popular conservative who has effectively blunted leftist propaganda.
Sarah Palin, private citizen, has brilliantly side-stepped state-run media relevance with Facebook, Twitter, SarahPAC, and hundreds of support blogs. Relegated to the status of also-rans, state-run media now begs her for interviews and not the other way round.
For example, Oprah's ponderous, failing show had its best ratings day in more than two years solely because Palin graciously acquiesced to Winfrey's repeated requests for her appearance.
After earning a $7 million advance for her just-released book, Going Rogue: An American Life and commanding six figures for speaking engagements, Palin has proven all of the sniveling elitists wrong -- again.
Still derided as nothing more than a "populist in a skirt," Palin nevertheless draws standing-room-only throngs of admirers wherever she appears. By the end of her book tour, she will be positively exposed to tens of millions of American voters in person or on their local news. Republicans and other conservative candidates across the nation are already seeking her blessing in local elections.
And oh, by the way; Her book will be the best-selling non-fiction of the year. Not bad for a washed-up, no-nothing, never-was quitter from Nowhere, Alaska, eh? You betcha.
The smell of fear
None of this is going unnoticed. Leftists and their state-run media lap dogs know that Sarah Palin and conservatism are widely popular and on the rise"Leftists and their state-run media lap dogs know that Sarah Palin and conservatism are widely popular in America. This is terribly frightening to them." in America. This is terribly frightening to them.
And even now, what do you see as "legitimate" news stories by state-run media? Chattering elitists denigrating Palin for actually staying at hotels on her book tour. Or that to meet a seven-hour deadline she flies in small private G-2 jet rather than using the tour bus that would take 12 hours. Really. No joke. She is evil because she doesn't like to sleep in the street and because she occasionally travels by airplane.
Do leftists ever viciously attack Oprah Winfrey, Nancy Pelosi, Maureen Dowd, or Angelina Jolie for where they stay, how they travel, or what they wear?
The Left and state-run media have not made one correct assessment about Sarah Palin -- but they have purposely lied about her. Just as they were totally off the mark with Ronald Reagan (whom they despised as well), they have underestimated her relationship with the American people.
They cannot fathom why she is so popular and this makes them fearful. So what do they do? They attack, belittle, deride -- and hate Sarah Palin. Their non-stop loathing transcends all decency and borders on the psychotic.
Ideals we can all understand
Governor Palin said it all -- in her own personable, understandable way -- during a recent interview with Rush Limbaugh:
"I think just naturally, independents are going to gravitate toward a Republican agenda and Republican platform because the planks in our platform are the strongest to build a healthy America. We're all about cutting taxes and shrinking government, respecting the inherent rights of the individual, strengthening families, and respecting life and equality. You have to shake your head and say, 'Who wouldn't embrace that? Who wouldn't want to come on over?'
They don't have to necessarily be registered within the Republican Party in order to join us with that agenda. In Alaska, about 70 percent of Alaskans are independent. So that's my base. That's where I am from and that's been my training ground, just implementing common-sense conservative solutions. Independents appreciate that. You're going to see more and more of that attraction to the GOP by these independents as the days go on."
So true, so sensible, so understandable. As Ronald Reagan proved, millions of registered Independents and Democrats flocked to support him because he was always positive and plainly articulated conservatism. And Reagan Conservatism is, after all, nothing different than the founding principles of our beloved nation. Which begs the question: Which Americans would ever disagree with such lofty principles?
Can you think of any? I bet you can.
Hype and Chains.
