Sarah, fair play, common sense
Now that the dust has settled a bit, now that all of the important and of course the self-important old and new media pundits have opined, perhaps it's the proper time for average Americans to get busy.
I'm just sayin' . . .
Sometimes it all just boils down to allowing that quaint but admirable American sense of fair play to shine through. We average Americans are fond of working things out in our own time, in our own way -- fairly and reasonably.
More times than not, when we average Americans step back, take a deep breath, and fairly examine every facet of an issue, common-sense deduction brings us closer to the truth than any politician's words ever could. That's why Obama's past was hidden from us, that's why the Washington regime is hurrying its agenda -- so that Middle American fair play and common sense cannot be employed before the permanent damage is done.
And how, you may ask, does that fit in with our perception of Sarah Palin?
Because of Sarah, Oprah just pimped her highest ratings in two years. According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 59 percent of Republican voters say that Sarah shares their values. In Grand Rapids, Michigan, more than 1,500 people lined up in freezing temperatures before 5:00 AM just to meet Sarah at the opening of her national book tour.
Apparently there are a whole bunch of folks nationwide who feel a connection, some sort of distant kinship.
Yet the publication of her book, Going Rogue: An American Life, immediately brought about the dispatch of 11 reporters by the Associated Press (AP) -- 11 reporters! -- to "fact-check" the book. Despite the fact that nothing of consequence or worthy of smear was discovered, it is more important to remember that the AP never dedicated an entire cadre of reporters to fact-check books by Obama, alGore, Kerry, or Biden. Why her?
Since Going Rogue was targeted for ridicule by State-run Media this week, 79 negative or somewhat negative stories were run nationally, as opposed to only two positive stories. Who is this woman? Why is she so vilified by the power brokers, media hyenas, and water carriers of the political elite?
Sarah Palin.
In 50 words or less, she's an America-loving, small-town, hard-working, independent woman who just happens to include mom, wife, church-goer, mayor, governor, naturalist -- and oh by the way, attractive -- in her curriculum vitae.
The very mention of her name evokes psychotic explosions of outrage and scorn by Democrat Party apparatchiks, the Republican Party (aka "urbane" and "intellectual") establishment, and the drooling jackals of state-run media. Why such vitriol? From their own mouths they condemn her as ignorant, a dullard, a hayseed, trailer trash, a trollop, inconsequential, a nothing, a joke. Then what is going on? Why bother?
Fear. Panic. They greatly fear and are threatened by Sarah Palin because a they know a majority of Americans comfortably identify with her life, love of family, motherhood, work ethic, and love of country.
And that is why average Americans
reading this should be applying the mental brakes right about now. All of this should cause you to step back, take a deep breath, clear your head of any preconceptions, and allow your American senses of fair play and reason to work their magic.
It would be too easy for me to assist you by citing all of the arguments, pro and con, page after tedious page, about Sarah Palin's intelligence, job experience, motherhood, diet, and favorite fly-fishing knot. You can find that at literally millions of other Web sources.
However, here's a B2 prediction to get you started on your quest for honest conviction: Sarah Palin will not run for national elective office. She will instead support like-minded candidates throughout the nation, at all levels of service.
So think about your children, family, friends, personal values, community values, freedom values, and our nation. Take your time. Let loose your God-given common sense. Compare what you come up with to what Sarah Palin expresses from the heart in her book. Then compare with what you are bombarded with daily by fearful state-run media and the political elitists.
Fair play, commons sense. Are you like-minded or fearful?
Hype and Chains.
