Missive to all GOP elites

Elite Know-Nothings

Yesterday, something wonderful happened. Despite years of condescending mewl for GOP moderation and whining for the GOP to be Democrat Lite from the likes of Noonan, Frum, Brooks, Parker, et al, America witnessed a significant turn of events in local and statewide elections by Republicans who campaigned as conservatives.

Well.

Were the election results merely coincidental and in no way a rebuke of Obama statism, as state-run media tool David Gergen opined last evening on CNN? I suppose some would still think so, but then of course they would be the ones clinically brain dead.

Were they also warning shots placed across the collective bow of local, state, and national Republican political committees that foolishly endorse and waste precious resources on leftist Scozzafava-like candidates? Does a pig have knuckles?

Heartland to elites: Wake up

No Republican, not even Newt Gingrich, can ever be considered intellectually honest by professing to venerate First Principles and then endorsing a RINO or Democrat over a Conservative. No Republican should ever again"To do so is to wither and die as a viable alternative political party." lose sight of First Principles, actively work to grow government and spending, or support any statist hegemony over the American people. And no Republican should ever again forget that we conservatives make you -- and we can break you.

To do so is to wither and die as a viable alternative political party -- and you Republican elites are doing a pretty good job of withering without us.

This is what the Republican Congress did from 2001 to 2007, this is why they were dumped, and this is why Republicans better start paying attention to their real power base, because:

Thanks to wrong-headed, elitist Republican politicos, America is now suffering under a jack-booted socialist regime.

We get it ... you don't

Perhaps it's because your lives are so insulated and isolated within the surreal Boston-to-Washington I-95 corridor. You so-called conservatives, you Chardonnay-sipping chatterers like David Brooks and Peggy Noonan"It's all about the power base. It's all about First Principles. It's all about something you obviously don't get." simply do not understand that we get it. Maybe that's why you feel the need to incessantly and imperiously lecture Middle America (for you sniffy fops in Manhattan, that's the rest of the United States) and conservatives on the need for incorporating "moderation," "compromise," "inclusion," and "Big Tent" values into the Republican Party.

Note to elites: We hayseeds and stump-jumpers out here in the real world know you can't run a Ron Paul candidate in a San Francisco Bay-area district. We get it. But we also know that no Republican Committee, at any level, should ever endorse a candidate who supports ACORN, Cap and Tax, Government-run Health Care Rationing, or any other socialist scheme you care to list.

It's all about the power base. It's all about First Principles. It's all about something you obviously don't get.

Even stalwart conservative Rush Limbaugh, in a recent Fox News interview, admitted voting for RINO John McCain for two reasons: 1) The alternative would destroy America; and 2) Because people like you clamored and manipulated for a "moderate," "Big Tent," "inclusive," unprincipled opportunist with no chance to win.

El Rushbo was, once again, proven right on both counts. Ooh, you just hate that he's nearly always right, don't you?

Conservatives win in a loss

There is no need to extensively comment on the results in Virginia and New Jersey. Quite simply, Americans are waking up to the fact that Obama and the Democrat Congress really don't hold the country's best interests to heart. Americans now see that gang of thugs trying to socialize America in order to"What did the GOP power pols give to Hoffman, a conservative? Zip, Zero, Nada, Squat." grab perpetual power, regardless of the harm to our nation and future generations. America's eyes are focused like laser beams on jobs and economy.

Americans are also focused on the fact that the small but destructive cadre of RINOs you help elect and nurture are little different from the statists.

But in New York State's R-23 election, the clarion call was sounded. The Republican Party poured nearly $1 million into a Republican candidacy, a true-blue leftist who then withdrew and endorsed the Democrat. What did the GOP power pols give to Hoffman, a conservative? Zip, Zero, Nada, Squat.

Of course, Hoffman was not a politician, was not up to speed on every issue, and entered the race late -- but only because he was appalled at the GOP's choice of candidate and could not let that stand. And if the GOP's fair-haired leftist had not endorsed the new Pelosi foot soldier, her votes would have put Hoffman over the top.

Again, all you elitist, perfumed princes and princesses, we conservatives understand that a third party is not conducive to victory over socialism -- we get it. But there is quid pro quo and you had better start paying attention. We conservatives must strive from within the Republican Party, but the difference is that if you back conservatives rather than liberals, we will win.

Your candidates lose.

Isn't that what you country-clubbing Republicans want? To win? Or are you happy being the rump party, the also-rans?

2010 is near

This past summer the NRSC, predictably, endorsed the RINO -- Florida Governor Charley Crist -- to run for the Senate seat vacated by Mel Martinez. Here we go again. Think Scozzafava with testicles and a better"The true conservative, the only conservative who can win -- Marco Rubio -- was haughtily dismissed by you know-all GOP aristocrats." haircut.

The true conservative, the only conservative who can win -- Marco Rubio -- was haughtily dismissed by you know-all GOP aristocrats. And for what? You attempt to foist an Obama-hugging, TARP- and Porkulus-loving, gambling- and tax-friendly, Old Boy Network candidate on what is a huge, powerful statewide conservative constituency.

As my old Florida mentor Howard Jelks used to say, "It ain't gonna fly."

Rubio now has the Crist camp in a tizzy; Each month his poll numbers rise while Crist's plummet -- they know Marco can win even if you don't.

Marco Rubio lives, breathes, walks, and talks conservatism; He is charming, charismatic, requires no teleprompter, and is unabashedly in love with the United States of America, its constitutional rule of law, individualism, and free enterprise.

There is still time for you elitists to come to your senses. There is still time to withdraw support from RINO Crist and endorse the only electable conservative in the race, and to provide Rubio with the necessary resources to ascertain victory.

Do so and you win thrice: You get a Republican Senator from a critical state elected in a landslide, you get a solid conservative who will never enable socialism in any way, shape, or form, and you get to appear like you actually know what you're doing.

But only if you want to win. If not, keep pontificating.

Hype and Chains.
