Deepening economic morass
The Commerce Department just released the second quarter Gross Domestic Product (GDP), which measures total goods and services output within U.S. borders. It fell by another 0.7 percent annual rate.
The Institute for Supply Management in Chicago said its business barometer fell to 46.1 in September from 50.0 in August, with a reading above 50 indicating expansion.
A separate survey by the ADP Employer Services showed private employers cut 254,000 jobs in September, much more than the 210,000 layoffs the market had been expecting.
These indicators are significant, and here's why: With the second-quarter contraction, the country's real GDP has shrunk for four straight quarters for the first time since government records started in 1947.
State-run media spin
State-run media is doing its best to actually spin this depressing economic mess into something -- anything -- remotely positive-sounding. They are even withholding bad news to prop up Obama's recovery charade -- lying by omission.
However, the fact remains that every one of the wealth distribution, pork barrel payola schemes perpetrated by the brain surgeons we know as Obama and the Democrat Congress have done nothing but cause more business failures and worsening unemployment.
And all of that "stimulus" money wasted on extending unemployment benefits is being used by Obama and the Democrat Congress like a drug to keep the unemployed content -- but doing nothing to create jobs.
Remember the shovel-ready jobs scam? Infrastructure works recovery scam? All lies, and the fun doesn't stop there.
Young, unemployed facing tough future
The number of young Americans without a job has exploded to 53.4 percent -- 53.4 percent -- a post-World War II high, according to the Labor Department.
The figure represents young adults aged 16 to 24, excluding students, and means that tens of millions of Americans are staring at the likelihood that their lifetime earning potential will be forever diminished.
Wait a moment to allow that staggering statistic to register, then ask yourself why state-run media is trying to keep America in the dark about the real state of the economy.

Ask yourself why Obama and the Democrat Congress, in a time of economic meltdown, raised the minimum wage rate -- thereby guaranteeing unemployment for teens and young adults -- because there are so many unemployed skilled, mature adults and adult illegal aliens from which to pick and choose.
Ask yourself why Obama and the Democrat Congress, in a time of economic meltdown, are engaged in taxing and regulating businesses out of existence.
Ask yourself why Obama and the Democrat Congress, in a time of economic meltdown, are engaged in spending money we don't have, exponentially growing the national dept burden to unsustainable proportions.
Finally, ask yourself why Obama and the Democrat Congress, in a time of economic meltdown, have done everything in their power to implement schemes guaranteed to destroy small businesses, the Middle Class, and free enterprise.
Seriously, we have been told that all of the statist business and financial takeovers, the Cap and Tax scam, a plethora of new taxes, and stimulus payola and wealth distribution schemes were crucial to reversing the economic crisis. We are being told the same thing about the Government-run Health Care Rationing scheme.
Are you stimulated? Economy turning around? Feel relieved? Didn't think so.
War against prosperity
Mind you, what Obama and the Democrat Congress are doing is nothing less than implementing a scheme to transform America from a constitutional republic into a socialist nanny state. They will not stop until they succeed or until we stop them.
Since there are now too few of the opposition in Congress to stop any of the radical Left's scheming, we American citizens are at the statists' mercy until 2010. Our only hope is that much of what these anti-Constitution, velvet-gloved fascists do to harm the republic can be undone beginning 14 months from now.
There are six million small businesses in the country, those that employ less than 100 people. They and the Middle Class are the economic backbone of the nation. It is plain that Obama and the Democrat Congress are waging war against them.
Of course, no one in the Obama administration -- including Obama -- has ever started or even run a small or large business before, so their experience in and knowledge of real life, in-the-trenches free enterprise is non-existent.
But that would only matter if they cared.
