The road beckons

gone fishin'There comes a time when you just say "enough," and that time is now. A reality break is in order after a four-year hiatus from anything remotely resembling a vacation.

For the past few years, stress-related fatigue and a dearth of disposable income were the chief focus due to an untimely celestial alignment of long-term illness, loss of employment, and a personal finance snafu.

But now that B2 life thingies are more or less tracking normally, a three-week road trip is in order to salve an aching, aging soul. North to Virginia to visit my twisted sister, then onward to the beautiful Finger Lakes and cows, hardwoods, ridges, waterfalls, tractors, and flannel.

And for-real dairy bars. And dark, starry nights. And a loon's call echoing across the lake. And cider mills. And 'maters. And the smell of cedar woods. And sweet corn. And . . .

Meantime, here's a look at the Lakes Region to keep you busy until B2 returns (links to the B2J blog). Enjoy life, stay safe, and God bless America.

Hype and Chains.
