Premeditated economic ruin?
Trying to justify all of the stupefying economic blunders thus far implemented by Obama and the Democrat Congress is like trying to maneuver a herd of cats.
It is simply impossible. Consider:
The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates job losses since the start of the recession to date at 7.2 million and counting. The cumulative job losses over the last six months have been greater than for any other half-year period since World War II.
The economy is in meltdown. Wall Street has floundered and is fearful of Obama's staggering spending and borrowing schemes, and America's growing debt burden is quite simply unimaginable.
Local and state governments are on the brink of default, and many are now furloughing employees without pay and shutting down all but essential services.
Corporate America is drawing inward; harboring its investment and growth capital in response to recent statist takeovers, government managerial meddling, and a bevy of new punitive taxes with which they must soon contend.
Without even considering the fantasy-based Cap and Tax fiasco, government-run health care, and the sunset of the Bush tax cuts, it is evident that we are being force-marched down the path to oblivion. Yet onward we trudge.
Most sane economists are baffled by the Democrat Party's agenda, laden with spending schemes that are completely ineffective and unsustainable. However, they all agree that it is a perfect way to finish off an economy already on life support.
There is no chance of recovery via raising all levels of corporate taxation, inventing new tax schemes to gouge the wealthy, raising the taxes of wage earners and small businesses, levying new taxes on retirement and health care, inefficient government operation of private-sector industries, and out-of-control borrowing to redistribute money on behalf of a non-stimulating special interest agenda.
Democrat Washington has so far frittered away trillions of dollars, yet paychecks shrink or disappear, jobs shrink or disappear, and many consumers fearfully hesitate to spend while many others merely subsist.
Then why continue thusly? Who gains from a weakened America, disillusioned citizenry, and a shattered economy?
It may pain some of you to acknowledge but if you're honest, you can figure it out.
Hype and Chains.
