Prepackaged entertainment

Once upon a time, the use of planted questioners at a presidential news conference was unbedingt verboten, the logic being that it would send a message to Americans and the world that the American media wasn't ethical, objective, or free.

Once upon a time, the exclusive use of the nation's major media outlets to soft-sell the agenda of a political party orObama-CBS Logo an administration without offering equal time to the opposition was unthinkable, the logic being that it would send a message to Americans and the world that the American media wasn't ethical, objective, or free.

But that was once upon a time.

It is shameful that State-run Media lap dogs from Brian Williams to Chris Matthews lob up softballs for Obama to hit out of the park (Mr. President, do you like living in the White House? Mr. President, how do you feel about the suffering of Iranian protesters? Mr. President, do you like quivering legs?).

And it is shameful that from the early stages of the presidential campaign to date,Obama-NBC Logo State-run Media has been the de facto voice of Obama, his Locutus of Borg.

Now we have television networks providing Obama Time, All The Time programming -- broadcasting nationwide -- with no air time allowed for dissenting opinion.

The press (now construed to mean all forms of journalistic media) is the only private-sector entity specifically referenced in the Constitution, and whose freedom of expression is guaranteed.

As such, the journalistic ethics of objectivity and fairness must be strong influences on the profession, else the very real power derived from such mandated protection can be corrupted to do grave harm.

But, it seems, that was once upon a time.

While the press, since its inception in America, has shown bias in one form or another, we have never seen anything likeObama-ABC Logo the State-run Media of today. They brazenly admit bias.

They now admit it because there can be no more denial: They have been caught lying daily. They lie to us through exaggeration. They lie to us by omission. They lie to us by inference. They lie to us by graphics manipulation. They lie to us by falsely accusing and publicly vilifying the opposition -- and their families.

State-run media has prostituted journalistic integrity, fouled free speech ethics, and are now openly aligned with the Obama regime and the Democrat Party.

And never forget that the State-run Media then and now, just like the elite statists they serve, consider us average Americans as nothing more than stupid, ignorant hayseeds -- unwashed hicks in fly-over country who ignore their wisdom and who don't have the intellect to understand the benevolence of socialism.

State-run Media have lost their credibility, and journalism without credibility or ethics is no longer journalism ... it is propaganda.
