Duck walk

by BD Pisani ♦ 31 may 2009

There is an old country saying that if it waddles like a duck and quacks like a duck, it's a duck. No matter what spin the statist administration and its media lap dogs use to describe their scheme for America, the waddling and quacking perfectly identify it as socialism.

Look beyond the spin. We are now subjects of one-party rule, not elected representation. We now have a privileged minority in power, willfully disparaging the Constitution and force-feeding sophistry down the collective maw of America.

Sophistry designed to pervert our constitutional liberties, moral judgment, social conscious, and the ideal of limited governance.

We are all extremists now

All who question or dissent have been and are being labeled as radical extremists, publicly attacked by the administration, or monitored by statist agencies.

As we have seen since the presidential campaign to present, all who voice a contrary opinion or question the designed societal disintegration of the Republic become targets.

We have all witnessed how such dissenters in any open forum -- whether at a public meeting, media interview, or a university campus -- learn quickly that the right to free speech has been abrogated.

It's not really happening

Many decent Americans find it hard to believe such a dismal, so very un-American transformation can happen here, and as a result find themselves in a state of numbed denial.

This majority of Americans are the producers, the people who are the engine of America. They work hard, pay their taxes, worship in faiths of their choosing, help their neighbors, volunteer for military service, and possess an innate sense of fairness.

They believe in and live the American Way. They respect their fellow citizens and want to see past injustices, real or perceived, set right. They want America and its people to succeed. They are loyal to their nation and were raised to be supportive of and trusting in limited, balanced government.

Which is exactly why we are in the throes of such a radical statist transformation. The majority of Americans believed in the altruism carefully woven into the campaign oratory but did not really think that the fundamental changes in constitutional governance referred to would be literally applied.

They trusted a glib, teleprompted activist to do the right thing, and in the American Way.

It is now difficult for them to embrace the fact that they were duped. It is troubling for them to acknowledge that what they see happening to their beloved country is far different from what they envisioned all of the flowery campaign rhetoric to mean.

You owe me

However, too many others understand all too well, salivating over our nation's headlong rush to self-destruction.

They knew long before the election that the campaign words were "just words," just another tool to obtain power so the real activism could commence.

Whether their motives stem from bigotry based upon race, religion, gender, simple hatred of the American Way, laziness, or for harms and practices committed or not committed decades or centuries ago -- they greedily await their ill-gotten spoils from the redistribution of national wealth.

Our wealth is now changing hands, trillions of dollars of it. Money is being pilfered, right now, from our businesses, taxes, retirement funds, medical funds, our children's futures, and America's debt obligations to other nations.

It's time for "payback" regardless of justification, and to Hell with America.

Mother me at any price

And then there are those American citizens, youthful Americans, legal immigrants, and illegal aliens who truly do not understand how or why our constitutional republic was founded, and how it is supposed to function if the nation is to thrive.

In a designed practice begun decades ago, our schools abandoned or de-emphasized a realistic curriculum in American civic matters; New arrivals to America emigrated from countries where a true constitutional rule of law does not exist in practice.

This large segment of America doesn't care how many inalienable rights they are forced to relinquish or how much control of their lives they must cede to Big Government.

They want to be nurtured, to be nannied, and they want it now -- at any price. Thus they will voluntarily, willingly surrender their freedom to the statist elites.

The words "Free" and "Brave" should probably be dropped from our National Anthem -- they no longer seem to apply.
