World turned upside down
During their surrender to Colonial and French troops at Yorktown in October 1781, it is said that British Army musicians beat out a tune named "The World Turned Upside Down" as Lord Cornwallis and the mightiest army on the planet yielded. Indeed, the world was turned on its head as life in the New World changed forever.
I thought of Yorktown and that song after attending a Tea Party with more than 2,000 other concerned citizens last Wednesday in front of our little Stuart post office. In a community as diminutive as ours, that was quite a gathering.
But I never thought, not even in wild fantasy, that I would witness such a protest in my lifetime -- not here, not in America, and not by productive, hard-working citizens.
Law-abiding citizens now a threat
According to Janet Napolitano, newly-minted Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Tsarina, any citizen who cherishes the Bill of Rights and the Constitution of the United States is now considered a radical, extremist threat to Obama statism.
Authoring a Blog critical of statists? Prepare for an IRS audit. Championing the Second Amendment? You are a crazed militia member. Opposed to statist health care or abortion? You will be monitored by DHS as a subversive. Outspoken against illegal immigration? You are now an enemy of the state.
This is real. This is happening in America. Our country is being turned upside down.
Tsarina Napolitano's DHS report entitled (large .PDF document) Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Environment Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment contains the following:
"Right-wing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."
Read it in its entirety. You will be sickened because now, if you oppose any statist government policy or raise dissent, you will be labeled a threat and potential criminal by your own government.
Statist government is stalking you
Although Napolitano has since attempted and failed to soften the DHS report, Obama's message is clear: We are watching you, and if you oppose us you will be punished.
Obama's statist government is shredding the Constitution, implementing rules and signing bills into law that are patently unconstitutional, yet to dissent means that you are an enemy.
Obama is spending away our children's futures, all the while arrogantly ignoring the wishes of Americans. Obama has complete control of the Congress, a pliant media, and the behemoth that is government bureaucracy -- who is there to stop his madness?
His media toadies haughtily imply that average Americans like you and me are being "whipped up into a frenzy" by [insert favorite hate group or radio talk show host here].
Whipped up, the media propagandizes, as though dissenting Americans are simply mindless, mouth-breathing churls rather than intelligent, passionate, law-abiding, and patriotic citizens who cannot stand to see their beloved nation soiled and their liberties extinguished.
