NYT: Finally, news fit to print
Hemorrhaging vast amounts of money for the past three years, The New York Times (NYT) is finally nearing the tipping point. Even after drastically reducing advertising rates, laying off staff, and dumping considerable chunks of its lucrative real estate holdings, the once-ethical rag has reached a new low.
According to Barron's, the NYT share price is worth less than it costs to purchase a copy of its Sunday paper in New York City.
And of course, we are told this is because the downturn in the housing and automotive markets, coupled with the overall economic recession, have cut sharply into advertising revenues and effectively ruined the model for newspaper operations.
But nowhere do you see grudging acknowledgement or even the merest chin nod to the impacts from alternative media, or to declining subscriptions and advertising due to public anger invoked by plain, old, blatant bias.
The death of credibility
The Drive-by Media have been caught lying daily. They lie to us through exaggeration. They lie to us by omission. They lie to us by inference. They lie to us by graphics manipulation. They have a socialist agenda to champion and have focused upon it like a laser beam since the Vietnam War.
“Hollywood and Broadway are now one-party outlets for mass societal indoctrination.”
They are personified in modern propagandists such as Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann, Brian Williams, and Andrea Mitchell, who themselves were weaned on the bias of old-school social shapers the likes of Dan Rather, Walter Cronkite, Jim Lehrer, and Tom Brokaw.
Abject leftist bias permeates all but a scant few of the nation's printed publications and is rife throughout the electronic media spectrum. Hollywood and Broadway are now one-party outlets for mass societal indoctrination. And in every medium, in every city, revenues have plummeted -- and were plummeting long before our current economic malaise.
Failure not an aberration
Drive-by Media newspapers have even been caught fabricating circulation numbers to deceive advertisers. Drive-by Media broadcasters must now offer advertising discounts to retain sponsors. Air America, that uber-leftist sham initially funded by socialist billionaire George Soros is an utter, miserable, no-ratings failure.
“There is no doubt that journalism without ethics or credibility is not journalism ... it is propaganda.”
Always remember that the Drive-by Media, from the 1960s until today, consider us average Americans nothing more than stupid, ignorant hayseeds -- unwashed hicks in fly-over country who ignore their wisdom and who don't have the intellect to understand the benevolence of socialism.
Through four decades now, we have been subjected to lying, deceiving, omitting, condescending, and embellishing to protect "their side," while fabricating stories and egregiously reporting in any way possible to harm conservatives. Pick a conservative, any conservative, and he or she was and still is vilified.
But perhaps the most horrible of fates has now stricken the NYT and their fellow travelers in the Drive-by Media -- they have lost their credibility. Ever-increasing numbers of the American people, ignorant and unwashed though we may be, are seeing them for what they truly are. Journalism without credibility or ethics is no longer journalism ... it is propaganda.
