What crisis? The crisis of gullibility
Gee, weren't we urged to mortgage the futures of our children by immediately bailing out bogus mortgage loans, most of which never defaulted, or civilization as we know it would be over? It was a lie.
Didn't we immediately have to approve a bogus $700 billion to $1 trillion plan to buy up all those high-risk loans, so-called toxic assets, or it would be the end of America? It was a lie.
Well, guess what? Surprise! Instead, Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson is gaily tripping hither and yon, attempting to give away money directly to bad banks, credit card companies, and loan companies -- all competing for handouts in a giant lobbying free-for-all.
Paulson now gamely attempts to paint a world of sweetness and light ...
... except now everybody and everything from state governments to automakers to restaurateurs are running to Washington with its, his, or her grubby little hands out -- to the estimated tune of $3.5 to 5.5 trillion!
And now we really do have an economic mess on our hands, thanks to the Democrat Congress. But guess what? They're not done, and they are literally destroying our country. Destroying our country.
This stinks ... and those of you who ignored the original Democrat-created wealth redistribution scheme of high-risk loans and now the Democrat-led "fix" are all suckers.
Enjoy your Change and Hope.
