Taxes and lies revisited
In light of the oft-repeated Team Zero Myth Number One that 95 percent of Americans will not experience any tax increases, and Team Zero Myth Number Two that only those earning over $250,000.00 will see tax increases, it is time to once again post these truths:
- 32 percent of adult Americans do not pay any taxes at all;
- 68 percent of adult Americans who do pay taxes support the 32 percent who don't;
- The top one percent wealthiest of adult Americans pay 39 percent of all taxes;
- The top 50 percent wealthiest pay 97 percent of all taxes;
- The bottom 50 percent pay just three percent of all taxes; and
- 86 percent of ALL FEDERAL INCOME TAXES are paid by the top 25 percent of income earners.
We already heard Obama tell Joe the Plumber that he has to take more of Joe's hard-earned money away from him to "spread it around," so you have to ask yourself a few questions:
- In a slumping economy, why in God's name would anyone want to raise taxes and further hurt the economy?
- Since the bottom 50 percent of all wage earners only pay three percent of federal income taxes, who is Obama going to gouge? The "rich?" Don't they provide our jobs?
- Obama's $250,000 lie is about businesses, not payroll taxes. He will raise taxes on all businesses who gross over $250,000 -- gross, not net. Aren't America's small businesses, the Mom and Pop businesses (82 percent of all American businesses), already hit hard enough as it is and working on the thinnest of profit margins?
- Despite the 95 percent lie, Obama has stated that he will raise taxes on all who earn over $42,000, raise Social Security taxes, and raise taxes on dividends. Won't this hurt our daily living? Our retirement savings and investments? Our retirement cost of living?
- Obama has stated that he will also do away with the Bush tax cuts -- thus increasing taxes for everyone -- everyone who pays taxes, that is. Don't we producers already have too much being gouged out of our weekly pay checks to support the non-producers?
- Pelosi and Obama have already worked out an immediate $300 billion "stimulus" plan (welfare) for immediately following the election. In a slumping economy, shouldn't we be curtailing additional spending? Where is this additional money going to come from? Guess.
- Congress just burdened us and our children with one trillion dollars worth of bogus mortgage bailouts for a problem Congress forced upon us. Where do you think this money will come from? Guess.
America, you still have time to come to your senses. Likely voter polls (the only reliable polls) have this race a statistical dead heat (plus or minus three points). The Drive-by Media is in the tank for Obama, so don't let them depress you or keep you from the polls.
Shake it off, get fired up, and get out there and vote.
