2nd Amendment: Obama lies, Biden swears to it
I recently read that Joe Biden swears Barack Obama won't take his shotguns. Ahem. Really? You weren't just pandering for votes at that fish fry for mine workers in rural Southwest Virginia, were you Joe? Remember Joe, these are the very same "bitter gun clingers" your running mate, The Messiah, derided until he realized that he can't get elected president without them.
In fact, if you've paid recent attention to Obama speaking about firearms and Second Amendment rights, you would think he grew up in a log cabin, used Hoppe's Number 9 as hair tonic, and owned a platoon's worth of weapons to shoot squirrels and possums for his family's daily vittles.
What a turnaround! It defies belief, even accounting for that pesky little nudge from the Supreme Court a few months ago. But the fact is, Senators Obama and Biden have consistently scored an F grade on the NRA's annual Second Amendment congressional scorecard. And that belief-defying mentioned earlier? Well, here's why:
Sordid history of assault on Bill of Rights
Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has made it clear that he believes gun owners are dangerous and that guns should be banned. Want proof? Here is a documented sampling of what Obama (and thus by extension Biden) really thinks of the Second Amendment:
- Obama voted for an Illinois State Senate bill to ban and confiscate "assault weapons," but the bill was so poorly crafted, it would have also banned most semi-auto and single and double barrel shotguns commonly used by sportsmen.
- Obama favors re-imposing the failed Clinton Gun Ban.
- Obama voted to ban almost all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
- Obama opposes Right to Carry laws.
- Obama supported a proposal to ban gun stores within 5 miles of a school or park, which would eliminate almost every gun store in America.
- Obama voted to allow reckless lawsuits designed to bankrupt the firearms industry.
- Obama favors a ban on standard capacity magazines.
- Obama supports a ban on inexpensive handguns.
We could continue with many more instances, but what's the point, really? You get the picture, and the picture is that Obama and his surrogate Biden will say anything, do anything -- even repeatedly lie -- in the hope that enough decent but gullible Americans will be conned into voting for them.
Words, like deeds, have meaning
American gun owners and sports enthusiasts better take a careful look at just where Barack Obama and Joe Biden really stand on issues related to the Second Amendment -- and just what disingenuousness they will employ to make you believe otherwise.
There can be no doubt that Obama, as confirmed by his votes taken, political affiliations, and long-standing anti-gun rhetoric, is a serious threat to Second Amendment liberties.
Joe Biden knows all of this; Joe Biden has voted in lock step on such matters with his master, and yet Joe Biden dutifully prostitutes his own integrity, betrays the American public, and avidly nurtures the lies -- all for the sake of power.
One lies, the other swears to it.
