Enlightening threats from eco-fascists
Amidst the greater struggle between emotional, agenda-driven global warming zealots versus the more traditionally science-minded who are not subservient to that religion, there have been recent examples of the deep-rooted hatred emanating from its apostles.
In one particular diatribe all but ignored by willing accomplices in the Drive-By Media, Grist Magazine staff writer David Roberts called for an end to free speech and Nuremburg-style trials for those who do not agree with the cult — and who have the temerity to oppose the Jihad against scientific method.
Persecute the non-believers
Yes, you read correctly. If you have not been baptized into the faith that believes the Earth will be cataclysmically destroyed in [insert wild guess here] years due to the evils of man in general and the United States in particular, this wing nut wants you censored and tried by tribunal as though you were a card-carrying Nazi Party member.
Roberts called for Nazi-like trials for the "bastards" who were members of what he termed the global warming "denial industry." He wrote in the online publication on September 19, 2006:
"When we've finally gotten serious about global warming, when the impacts are really hitting us and we're in a full worldwide scramble to minimize the damage, we should have war crimes trials for these bastards — some sort of climate Nuremburg."
Ahem. It's one thing to have our intelligence insulted by the likes of eternal vote-panderer and professional docubabble huckster al-Gore, or listen to a sneering, disingenuous condemnation haughtily dribbling out of the orifice of PBS's fellow traveler Bill Moyers. After all, those two never met a socialist notion they didn't like.
But when thoughts, even those misfiring synapses that pass for thoughts in such misguided sheep as David Roberts, turn to a call for action that includes censorship and worse, it is a deeply repugnant affront to open and rational debate.
We will silence you - or worse
Zealots such as Roberts equate those who offer honest debate over the global warming theorem to wicked, dangerous xenophobes who claim there was no Nazi Holocaust against the Jews. To him and his ilk, there can be no tolerance for rational debate about climatic change, which means there can be no free speech.
But perhaps the most reprehensible aspect of the believers is their snide correlation between those who question the scientific methodology of global warming as it is presented and those who deny the Holocaust. Nothing could be more slanderous or disgraceful.
And as many retired climate scientists will attest, there is increasingly a concerted effort to silence those who speak out. You see, they were forced to refrain from speaking out until after retirement or face the unpleasant prospects of peer ridicule, grant funding being rescinded, or outright termination of employment.
We are witnessing one of the most successful, craftily implemented, yet extremely disturbing public relations campaigns in modern history, and this latest rant is simply another small taste of just how far this thuggish horde of effete, condescending elitists is willing to go to force their unsubstantiated beliefs down our collective craw.
And you thought the murdering Islamist fascists were evil.
