Lost in an illegal sea
Those of you who think the national outrage over the illegal alien crisis is nothing more than the unfocused ranting of a few crazed nativist groups should put down the crack pipe -- you are seriously out of touch. You are so far out of touch with reality that you could substitute for our pandering, offensively condescending members of Congress ...
Politicians on both sides of the aisle have underestimated the magnitude of anger pouring forth across America. Several polls have illustrated that fully 90 percent of Americans are sick and tired of our porous borders and the overwhelming burden caused by millions of illegal aliens. On the conservative side (85 percent of Democratic and Republican America, by the way), the angst in fly-over country over this issue is thick enough to cut with a blade.
The vast majority of Americans have shouted to the heavens to close up the sieve that some call our border with Mexico, use the laws currently on the books to punish all businesses who hire and abet illegal aliens, and to NOT reward the millions of alien lawbreakers with amnesty.
So what do our pathetic princes and princesses in the Senate do? What do McCain, Schumer, Clinton, Kerry, Durbin, Boxer, and the rest of that sorry ilk do? Publicly impugn the get-tough legislation initiated in the House of Representatives, disingenuously label legitimate concerns for the sovereignty of our nation as "racist" or "nativist" alarmism, and thumb their collective nose at all of us while they pander amongst an ethnic sea of illegals for potential future votes.
Have they forgotten?
Have they forgotten our 3,000 murdered men, women, and children and the fact that we are at war with a maniacal enemy? Do they not understand that a nation without secure borders cannot stand? Do they really want to slap the faces of millions of legal immigrants who jumped through the hoops, studied for citizenship, patiently and lawfully bided their time, and cherish the fact that they are now Americans? Are these elitists now so snug in self-appointed royal privilege that they no longer blush when they brazenly bare their collective backside in expectation of our kiss?
Apparently so. They are now so comfortable that they cannot see how much they have misjudged the people they were elected to serve. They openly betray our trust and illustrate their elitism when they label us as "anti-immigrant." This has absolutely nothing to do with legal immigration — the vast majority of illegals are here to make money and not for assimilation as citizens.
The B2 Journal has in previous articles repeatedly itemized facts and figures regarding the illegal alien crisis, so they will not be rehashed. But one thing is certain: some of the royals in Washington who have sold their souls and are selling our nation for votes are in for a surprise in November.
They just don't know how much they have misjudged the American people and the fact that immigration is not the real issue here. No, we Americans have far greater concerns, namely the threat to our rule of law, national security, national sovereignty, our national identity, the ever-increasing welfare state, the economy, and long-term political stability.
The nation we hold dear, the unique fabric that is America, these things are now at risk ... but you wouldn't know it from what is slithering out of Washington.
