Muslim hate: The Prophet's Message
Violent protests by Muslims in Asia, Europe, and the Middle East erupted over 12 caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad first published in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten in September, and reprinted in European media in the past week. One depicted the prophet wearing a turban shaped as a bomb with a burning fuse. I suppose the following is what passes for sane, concerned dialogue and rational protest in the World of Islam:
A riotous throng of Islamists chanting "We will redeem our prophet Muhammad with our blood!" torched the Danish and Norwegian embassies in Syria.
Gaza Palestinians marched through the streets, storming European buildings and burning German and Danish flags. Protesters smashed the windows of the German cultural center and threw stones at the European Commission building.
Rallying Iraqis demanded an apology from the European Union.
Across Europe, rioting Muslims chanted slogans threatening more London bombings, praising the "magnificent" 9/11 hijackers and waving placards saying "Massacre those who insult Islam," "Europe you will pay," and "Europe you'll come crawling when Mujahideen come roaring."
The leader of the newly-elected Palestinian terrorist group Hamas called the cartoons "an unforgivable insult" that merited punishment by death.
Pakistan's Foreign Ministry summoned nine European envoys to lodge protests against the publication of the "blasphemous" sketches.
The Chilean Embassy in Damascus, Syria was torched.
Masked gunmen in Gaza affiliated with the Fatah Party called on the Palestinian Authority and Muslim nations to recall their diplomatic missions from Denmark until the government apologizes.
In the West Bank town of Hebron, Palestinians marched to the headquarters of the international observer mission there, burned a Danish flag and demanded a boycott of Danish goods.
In Amman, two Jordanian newspaper editors who published cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad were arrested.
Iran's president ordered his commerce minister to study canceling all trade contracts with European countries whose newspapers have published the caricatures. President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the caricatures showed the "impudence and rudeness" of Western newspapers against the prophet as well as the "maximum resentment of the Zionists (Jews) ruling these countries against Islam and Muslims."
Well. The Religion of Peace indeed.
Violence, brutality, and mass murder
The nature of Islam should be sufficiently clear from the words of the Koran. While certain passages profess peace and brotherhood amongst believers, much of the scriptures are harsh, cruel, and uncompassionate. But even if you never read the Koran, Islamic practice should be abundantly clear from the outrageous crimes of violence, brutality, and mass murder that its adherents are perpetrating with regularity against non-Muslims across the globe.
Muslim fundamentalism is now the mainstream of Islam, and Fundamentalist Islam stands alone among the major religions of the world. No other religion on earth has the violent nature of Islam, no other religion is so consumed with hatred against other religions, and no other religion actively preaches for the destruction of all other religions and death for all non-Muslims.
To fathom why there is so much violence over cartoons appearing in the Western press, political cartoons that on a daily basis regularly lampoon everyone and everything, two key points must be understood:
First, the devoutly religious Muslim simply does not integrate into non-Muslim society. He doesn't fit and he is not happy there. The Koran demands that true Muslims make no friendships with non-Muslims; to do so is to disobey the Koran. Second, there is no nation on earth where Islam is the dominant religion that has a free and independent press. The concept of free thought is alien and the two are mutually exclusive.
There is therefore no form of appeasement that will ever assuage Islam. There is no common ground. Today, that very small minority of Muslims who are considered "moderate" are irrelevant; They have no voice and thus no power in the Islamic world.
When, if ever, will the West awaken?
