Cindy Sheehan: Used, abused, discarded
Were the situation not so sad, so pathetic, the demise of Cindy Sheehan would be laughable. She served as the face of the Democrat Party's anti-war movement and its majority radical base. She was coerced into politicizing the loss of her son, abandoning her family, milked of her dignity, and then discarded to the rubbish heap ...
The radical Left and allied Drive-by Media made Cindy Sheehan their poster girl, built her up to celebrity status, then used her grief and unstable mental condition in an attempt to embarrass President Bush, weaken his administration, foment protests against the War on Terror, harm our soldiers in Iraq, and undermine the Iraqi democratic process by aiding and abetting terrorists through propaganda.
After an initial flurry of interest due to biased media blitz and glitz, it became obvious to even the most radical of the Radical Left that America's initial forced infatuation with Ms. Sheehan was waning. In fact, most Americans saw her for what she was and either felt pity or disgust - there was never any real traction generated in support of the anti-war mob for which she unwittingly fronted.
"... She was abandoned to slowly and painfully twist in the wind, alone on the gibbet and all but forgotten ..."
And so Cindy Sheehan was cast aside by the Left; The Drive-by Media, leftist bloggers, and leftist politicians sucked her dry and leeched out anything of propaganda value. She was then abandoned to slowly and painfully twist in the wind, alone on the gibbet and all but forgotten.
Sheehan's stab in the back was never more evident than this past week at the National Press Club. She spoke to an empty room, populated by only three bored foreign journalists. She rambled on and on about the vile Valerie Plame, alleged lies and cover-ups, and more than a few topics that were, quite frankly, indecipherable.
The use, abuse, and abandonment of Cindy Sheehan by the Democrat Party was predictable but nevertheless despicable and extremely uncomfortable to witness.
