Beat of media bias pounds on

Should we be surprised at the never-ending barrage of Old Media bias and distortions aimed at harming anything American or conservative? Of course not but Mark Yost, one of "their own," was greatly surprised after being pilloried by his leftist brethren for daring to write a positive column about Iraq in The St. Paul Pioneer Press.

Yup. That's right. His fellow ink-stained liberal wretches tore him a new one for writing that the mainstream media are focusing on the negative and ignoring the positive. Reporter Chuck Laszewski of the same newspaper blasted Yost: "With your column, you have spat on the copy of the brave men and women who are doing their best in terrible conditions. You have insulted them and demeaned them," he wrote. "I am embarrassed to call you my colleague."

According to noted columnist Michael Fumento, Knight-Ridder's Washington, D.C., Bureau Chief Clark Hoyt (The St. Paul Pioneer Press is a Knight-Ridder newspaper) . . . "devoted a column to a Yost roast, taking time out only to slam U.S. progress in Iraq. To read it is to know exactly why so many Americans believe we can't trust the media to fairly cover the war."

Heh heh. Fumento further adds it is ironic indeed that the very obviousness of Yost's observation led to such incredible media ferocity and ridiculous efforts to justify the bias. One reporter claimed on the Poynter Institute's Romenesko open blog for journalists that Yost "must not be watching the network nightly newscasts," yet that's exactly what Yost was criticizing. David Hannners, a Pioneer Press reporter, insisted the media have no obligation to present positive stories because war itself is a negative thing. Say What?

I could relate excoriating comment after excoriating comment from a bevy of so-called "unbiased journalists," but why bother? EVERYONE KNOWS THAT YOST IS RIGHT - even the Old Media elites who cannot and will not admit their bias. To admit the grievous harm their lies and premeditated distortions are doing to this wonderful nation, our brave military, and elected leaders is to admit their liberal agenda.

Kudos, Mark Yost. It takes guts to stand up to your lying peers and tell the truth, so suck it up and stay the course. We will never again believe them anyway.
