We're hated, but who cares?
I read an interesting article by Dennis Prager the other day that attempted to dissect the lab rat that is hatred of America. He looked at hatred emanating from abroad and by some of our own spoiled, elitist citizens. Prager's paper was well-reasoned and objectively presented, but not nearly forceful enough for the likes of ol' B2.
It all boils down to whether you think America is evil and hatred of it is justified, or America is a decent country populated by decent people and the haters are evil. Despite our historical faults (faults for which we strive to over-correct, even today), the United States of America is a country that has liberated more people from tyranny than any other, and which has been a place of refuge, tolerance, and opportunity for more people from more diverse backgrounds than any other in the history of Planet Earth.
Do you mind telling me what virtuous things have been accomplished by the Taliban of Afghanistan, Al Qaeda and other Muslim terrorists, the Islamic regimes of Iran and Sudan, and members of Hamas and the many Palestinian and radical Muslim groups who lend support? How about the North Koreans? Communist China? Cuba? Hugo Chavez and Venezuela? That's right...silence. There is nothing to say, nothing to list. When you look at the roster of the America-haters as Prager points out, and realize that none of them hates France or Sweden, this assessment of America-hatred is rendered even more obvious. America, largely alone, calls these groups and regimes what they are -- evil. And oh by the way, we support Israel unlike France or Sweden. But that doesn't have anything to do with anything now does it, hmm?
Let me make this as plain as I can for all of you unthinking, touchy-feely, sissy-pants Nancy girls out there - screw you and the opinions of hate-mongering fascists that you worry so much about. There are those of you who are ashamed of America for being hated and those who wear this hatred as a badge of honor. Grow a pair and stand up for what's right, all the time, even if it means that evil people in evil countries hate you for what you stand for. Or live in one of their countries and see what happens to your pampered, whining asses.
